Our biggest news of the month is the partnership with the NSW government to deliver solutions to reimagine the city experience as part of the City Revitalisation Innovation Challenge 2.0. We will be trialing our DeepWalk technology to map out Sydney CBD's footpath network with advanced computer vision and deep learning techniques that enable spatial mapping of street furniture such as benches, garbage bins, and bicycle racks out of many others.

Our submission to the NSW government innovation challenge falls under the "Active Transport" stream that aims to answer a simple yet key question: How might we create more effortless and supportive journey stop experiences for active transport users?

The outcomes of the proposed solution are expected to improve the uptake of active transportation in Sydney CBD by allowing travelers to make more informed decisions on their route and destination choice, through having a better understanding of the distribution and availability of different urban amenities and infrastructure.

The outcomes are also expected to improve current local and state governments’ walking infrastructure asset management and planning practices. The potential impact of the proposed solution goes beyond individual users and government agencies. Autonomous last-mile delivery robot companies also benefit from the developed high-definition sidewalk maps for improved autonomous robot perception and localization.
