Meet the team

In just three years, our team has grown from a humble co-founders duo to a dynamic group of eleven. Our team is a testament to diversity and inclusion, with members hailing from six different countries. The blend of backgrounds, cultures, and expertise fuels our innovation and strengthens our perspective and vision in making the world a better place to live for everyone.

Tanapon and Meead co-founded footpath.ai in April 2021.

Founders

Dr. Meead Saberi

Meead is the co-founder and CEO of footpath.ai. He is also an Associate Professor in transport engineering at the UNSW Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation and a member of the UNSW AI Institute with 15+ years of experience in building innovative solutions in urban transportation in partnership with the governments and private sectors. Meead has been the recipient of an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant on "Rethinking walking infrastructure: AI-assisted footpath network modeling" which planted the seed for the creation of footpath.ai.

Meead was born in Tehran amid the Iraq-Iran war, grew up in Mashhad, moved to the U.S. in 2008, completed his Ph.D. at Northwestern University, and moved to Sydney, Australia in 2014. He is passionate about AI, network science, and walkable cities.

Dr. Tanapon Lilasathapornkit

Tanapon is the co-founder and CTO of footpath.ai. He holds a transportation engineering Ph.D. degree titled "network modeling for walking infrastructure". He is also a postdoctoral research associate at UNSW Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI). He is an expert in geospatial data science with 5+ years of research and consulting experience working with several government and enterprise clients.


Tanapon grew up in Bangkok and completed his university studies in Thailand, Australia, and the U.S. He loves food, traveling, and anything GIS.
